Dean's Message

The members of Yeditepe University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences draw their vision from two primary intellectual pillars. On one hand, our approach to research and education is shaped by a legacy of ancient wisdom that has built states and enduring social institutions across a vast geography, spanning from Central Asia to the heart of Europe. We maintain profound ties to our region and our local heritage. On the other hand, we closely follow the social science paradigms and contemporary discourses developed by humanity over the last few centuries. We embrace the ideal of engaging with polycentric global intellectual movements and actively leading these developments as decisive agents.
Our faculty aims for an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary structure rooted in the synergy between research and education. Joint inter-departmental research, project design, and integrated educational processes are indispensable to this mission. Diverse double major and minor opportunities, alongside extensive international exchange programs, enable our students to become integral parts of this journey. On this foundation, we take pride in contributing to the evolution of human thought—not merely as a theoretical endeavor, but as a source of inspiration for addressing the global challenges facing humanity today, such as climate crisis and digital transformation.
We invite our current and future students, alumni, and external stakeholder to join us in this process and contribute to the development of our faculty.
