Associate Professor Dr. İlkim Büke Okyar has been awarded Senior Scholar status by Fulbright.

Assoc. Prof. İlkim Büke Okyar has been awarded “Senior Scholar” status under the Fulbright Program, one of the world’s most prestigious academic exchange programs. Driven by a strong commitment to academic excellence and global impact, this distinguished program brings together outstanding scholars from around the world, contributing to the advancement of knowledge on an international scale. Assoc. Prof. İlkim Büke Okyar, Vice Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, will conduct her research at Northwestern University within the Keyman Modern Turkish Studies Program. During this period, she will further develop her publication project on the Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası—one of the earliest experiments in Türkiye’s transition to multi-party politics—positioning it within a broader international academic framework.
